ADOPTABLE PETS
If interested in adopting one of our available pets, you must complete our ADOPTION APPLICATION. All applications will be reviewed and considered in a timely manner. Pets are placed in the home deemed most suitable to meet that pets needs. All adoptable animals have been examined by a vet, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, treated for internal parasites, treated for external fleas and are playing and getting socialized in a healthy, happy foster home environment. Our adoption fees range from $150 – $500. Our pets can also be viewed on:

ADOPTION PENDING: Lucia and her siblings were born in the shelter, but were quickly scooped up by Lovebugs Rescue a few days later. Their mama Lola is a 100 lb Mastiff mix who is very friendly. Lucia is a curious and sweet natured puppy who loves being around her foster family and she enjoys belly rubs on her freckled belly. Lucia is proving to be super smart and has quickly mastered some basics such as default sit, fetch, recall, and is getting an A+ on her potty training. Lucia loves new people she meets and other dogs too. She is well mannered in the house and will happily entertain herself if need be. Lucia is expected to be in the 80 lb plus range when full grown. She’s absolutely darling with her jet black muzzle and long floppy ears!

PENDING MEET AND GREET, TAKING BACK UP APPS ONLY: Baguette was rescued from the Riverside shelter after she was turned in as a stray. We are sure glad we were able to scoop her to safety. Baguette is a petite 2 year old, 11 lb Terrier/Dachshund mix. She has a long and low build, and the most adorable long brows and scruff. Baguette is pretty shy initially and just wants to be a velcro baby with her humans. She is friendly with new people she meets and allows handling, especially when high reward treats are involved. This gal is very treat motivated which will make conditional training and confidence building a breeze. She could not be any more adorable! The best type of home for Baguette would be one on the low key side secure side, kids are okay – the more love to go around the better. She loves riding in the car and going for short errands with her foster family.

Maggie was rescued from the Riverside shelter where she was turned in as a stray. Maggie has acclimated to her foster home pretty much seamlessly. She gets along with the other dog in her foster home, seems to be crate and potty trained, and friendly with new people she meets. Her hair is cut back short at the moment, but we do expect it to grow in a wispy terrier coat. Her coloring is beautiful!

PENDING MEET AND GREET, TAKING BACK UP APPS ONLY: Apple is a 1 1/2 year old 40 lb Labrador Retriever mix who was rescued from the Lancaster shelter. Apple came to us skin and bones, so we expect a healthy weight on her would be in the 45 – 50 lb range. Despite her neglect, she is a total cuddle bug. She enjoys playing with dogs her size and warmed up quickly to her French Bulldog foster sister. We think she would be fine with our without another dog in her forever home. Apple is crate trained and housebroken and she enjoys her daily walks. The ideal home for her would be one who understands that she might be a little shy initially, and that she could benefit from some confidence building. She is a sweet and sensitive gal who will make a loyal and loving companion.

PENDING ADOPTION: Chloe is a dainty 10 month old 5 lb Chihuahua who has the most adorable ears. She came to us very shy and has been slowly coming out of her shell. She is super sweet and loves her foster mommy. Chloe is well mannered in the home and can be left for short periods of time. She’d prefer to be close to her loved ones, and would love to be someone’s co-pilot. Chloe seems to prefer the grass outside vs. the pavement on her walks; it’s one of her funny quirks. She’s met a few small dogs her own side, but she’s more scared of them at this point. We think the best type of home for Chloe would be a one on the quiet side that is secure. She is going to continue to need some confidence building and positive experiences outside of the home. Chicken goes a long way with her! Mostly she will need someone with a lot of love to give, because she has a lot of love to give in return. Chloe is going to make a nice addition to someone who has a true love for the Chihuahua breed.

Oliver was turned into the Riverside shelter as a stray the day after Christmas. He was dirty and matted and clearly lived a life of neglect. Despite this, Oliver is the sweetest most kissy boy ever! Oliver is a 1 year old, 16 lb Shih Tzu mix with that timeless black and white pattern. He gets along great with new people he meets and he loves other dogs. Oliver is well mannered around the home, is house trained and walks well on leash. He will need regular upkeep and grooming as his coat grows back in. PENDING ADOPTION: Gia was an urgent save out of SEACCA within moments of her scheduling to be euthanized for space. We are so glad we were able to scoop her to safety just in time! Gia is a 1 1/2 year old, 48 lb “pocket” Pittie who is compact in size but is a strong girl. She’s also super sweet and silly. You may not always see it but she has an award winning smile to go with her personality. She loves kisses, cuddles and belly rubs and is friendly with new people she meets. Gia is both crate and potty trained and enjoys going for walks and rolling in the grass or basking in the sunshine. She likes playing with other dogs she knows, but she’d also be fine being a one and only. Gia has a medium energy level and is happiest when following her humans around the house. An ideal home for Gia would be one that is looking for a loving, affectionate gal and a family who has a love for, and experience with the Pittie breed.

PENDING ADOPTION: Curly was turned into the Riverside shelter as a stray in deplorable condition. His matting was so thick and dirty, we can’t imagine how uncomfortable this was for him. Curly is a senior Poodle mix, who is 13 years old and weighs 15 lbs. He is very dainty and delicate, but manages to get around just fine. He may need assistance with steps if they are in the home. It doesn’t appear that Curly can hear, but he can see and he loves everyone he meets. We can’t believe what a gentle and forgiving soul he has. All he wants to do is be with his person and follow them to the ends of the Earth. Curly gets along great with other dogs, but mostly he just wants to be with his person. Curly’s vetting has been complete which includes a much needed dental and entropion correction on his right eye. He got an A+ on his exam, his heart is strong and his bloodwork and urine looked good. The ideal home for Curly is going to be one where his family is home more often than not. He will need a safe one level environment that he can navigate through during the day. His coat will require upkeep and grooming as it grows back in and he does wear a belly band in case he can’t make it outside in time. He is looking for a soft place to land to spend his golden years. PENDING ADOPTION: Lola was one of our amazing mama dogs, but now it’s her turn to find a forever family of her own. Lola is a 2 year old, 100 lb Mastiff mix with the most adorable long ears and nub tail. She is friendly with new people she meets and will happily allow being pet and handled. Lola also loves other dogs too, especially if they want to play. She’ll never pass up a good romp with another pooch! Lola has acclimated to the routine in her foster home and is well mannered and sleeps in a crate at night. She walks well on leash and is great adventure partner on longer hikes which is truly her happy place. Lola is very connected to her people and is going to make a very loyal and loving companion. Another dog she can pal around with is not a must, but a plus. Due to Lola’s size and breed, we are having a gastropexy done at the time of her spay. Lola is going to make an amazing addition to a family looking for, and experienced with a larger breed pooch.

Sweet little 9 pound 1 year old January is the perfect tiny Lovebug. She’s got gorgeous green eyes and statement ears – her little body looks just like a fox from the back. This little terrier mix is so curious about the world and can’t wait to explore it more once she’s recovered from her spay and can go on longer walks. She’s done well with all people and dogs she’s met so far, which is amazing considering everything she’s been through in a short time. She’s eager to play with her foster sister but will also settle down in her crate and sleep once she knows it’s time. It’s heartbreaking to think someone left January behind because she quickly trusts her humans and gives a gentle kiss to show you her appreciation – she is so ready to find the loving family she deserves!

PENDING ADOPTION: Tito is a 4 year old, 20 lb Dachshund mix who we rescued from the Harbor LA City shelter after he was turned in with a leg injury. Turns out he needed an FHO surgery by our orthopedic surgeon. His surgery was a success and Tito is back in the game! Tito is a happy boy who gets along with both people and other pets. He loves other dogs and is fine with dog savvy cats and bunnies too! He has a playful spirit and a true joy for life. Tito walks well on leash, has mastered sit and is fully housebroken. He loves working on his smart toys and chewing on his bones. Tito was someone’s beloved pet at some point in time, and it makes us said to think he ended up in the shelter. He is going to make a wonderful addition for a family looking for a socialite, and someone who has a love for the Dachshund breed.

Glimmer came to Lovebugs Rescue after her and several other dogs were seen being dumped, with one being hit by a car and killed. Thankfully Glimmer was scooped up to safety. She is very shy initially and needs a slow warm up to new people, but her tail will be wagging once she knows her people a little better. She loves other dogs and would benefit being in a home with another pooch to pal around with. Glimmer did come to us with some cracked front teeth, which have since been removed. We don’t know what her past was like, but she’s now onto a bright new future ahead! Glimmer is a 2 year old 11 lb Dachshund/Chihuahua mix and has that adorable low rider build. An ideal home for her would be one that is on the quiet side without a lot of coming and going. Also a secure outdoor spot she can go potty.
